StarTech Introduces Two New USB-C Multi-Port Adapters Supports Dual 4K Display
With the introduction of the Reversible Type-C standard, the usability of the USB interface has once again increased, and manufacturers are happy to equip their hardware with a USB-C port to allow users to choose from a wide range of peripheral accessories. Recently, StarTech has released two new USB-C multi-port adapters supporting dual-screen connections, models DK30C2HAGPD and DK30C2DAGPD. The former uses a dual HDMI port, while the latter comes with dual DisplayPort ports, and StarTech also comes with a 1-meter extension cable.
StarTech pointed out that the new adapter also has the advantage of including DisplayPort Alt Mode mode switching. It allows the user to choose between a higher display resolution or a faster USB speed.
For example, you can allocate most of the bandwidth to a high-resolution display (dual 4K @ 30FPS, or single 4K @ 60FPS), and then allocate less bandwidth for low-speed devices such as mouse and keyboard. When focusing on external data transmission (such as copying data on a mobile hard disk), you can appropriately reduce the resolution of the display (dual 1080p, or single 4K @ 30FPS).
In addition to dual video output, Gigabit is available on the back of Taiwan, USB 2.0, USB-C power input interface, and the front side is USB 3.0, laptop charging (USB-C), and DP ALT mode switch.
For power supply, StarTech offers 100W of input power (PD 3.0) for both adapters, capable of charging a laptop with a USB-C interface at 85W.
Both models are currently available for sale, and the HDMI version (DK30C2HAGPD) is priced at $128.99 (886 RMB) on Amazon. The DisplayPort version (DK30C2DAGPD) is available for purchase on StarTech’s website for $155.99 (1099 RMB).
